Your thesis, written correctly — with AI.
You give it your papers, notes and figures — even if they’re just PDFs, Word docs, text files or slides. It reads them, pulls out your figures and tables, and writes your full IUT thesis in the official format — cover page, chapters, citations, everything in the right order. No manual formatting.
Copy this link — it works everywhere
https://github.com/sakhadib/IUT-Thesis-Skill-for-AI
Paste it when your AI asks to “import a skill” or “add a plugin”. That’s it.
Who is this for?
If you are an IUT student who has research papers or project notes and needs to turn them into a proper thesis book, this skill does the heavy lifting. You don’t need to know LaTeX. You don’t need to be technical.
- Upload anything — PDF, DOCX, TXT or PPT/PPTX. No need to extract figures or give .tex
- You talk normally — “expand Chapter 2 from my papers”
- It does the formatting — cover, title, declaration, table of contents, chapters in order
- It keeps facts honest — every number and claim comes from your files, not made up
Install — pick your AI
One link works everywhere. Choose the AI you use — we’ll show only the steps for that one.
Claude (claude.ai)
No commands. Just paste the link.
- In Claude, choose Add skill → Import from GitHub (or start a session with a GitHub repo mounted).
- Paste this and confirm:
https://github.com/sakhadib/IUT-Thesis-Skill-for-AI
- Try: “Use write-iut-thesis to expand Chapter 1 from my Papers folder.”
What happens behind the scenes: Claude finds .claude/skills/write-iut-thesis/SKILL.md. You don’t need to touch it.
No git? No LaTeX? It still works. The skill downloads the template with curl or PowerShell if needed, and if you don’t want LaTeX it edits files anyway — you can compile later on Overleaf with one upload.
How it works — in plain English
You don’t learn LaTeX. You just describe what you want.
It gets the official template itself
The correct IUT template lives in Template/. If it’s missing, the skill fetches it from GitHub automatically — even without git (using your browser download or system tools). It never overwrites your work.
It reads your work before writing
It looks at your main.tex and at whatever you upload — PDF, Word, slides or text — and extracts the text, tables and figures first. So chapter numbers, citations and labels stay correct. No cut-and-paste mess.
It writes one chapter at a time, honestly
It makes a plan for the chapter, writes it fully (not a summary), adds your tables and figures with correct references, and ties every fact to your source. No invented numbers. Then you review, then next chapter.
Want the technical detail? (optional) ⌄
7-step loop: inventory evidence → coverage map → expand prose → include figures/tables with \autoref → ensure traceability → include in main.tex → verify compile. Repeats per chapter.
Formatting: enforces \documentclass{iutbscthesis}, one \supervisor, \addauthor per student, three-arg \defensedate, front-matter order (cover → roman pages → title → declaration → dedication → contents → figures → tables → abbreviations → acknowledgement → abstract → arabic).
LaTeX handling: detects OS (Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora/RHEL, Arch, openSUSE, Alpine, macOS, Windows/WSL), tries minimal TeX Live/MacTeX/MiKTeX install, otherwise shows official docs; on decline, prepares Overleaf/Prism zip.
What you get
A thesis that looks right
Cover page, title page, declaration, table of contents, figures and tables — all in IUT’s required order and style. Citations use biblatex and print correctly with \printbib.
Chapters written from your papers
Introduction, Related Works, Data & Models, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion — adapted to what your research actually needs. Figures use booktabs tables and subfigure groups, referenced properly.
Clean, defensible writing
Active, specific prose. No filler. Related work grouped by theme, not just listed. Methods described so they can be reproduced. Results reported in tables, then interpreted.
Quick reference
You can ignore this until you need it.
